about

Bee-Pop-A-Lula, you´re my honey!

Bienen-Beats und Drohnen-Drones, buzzing, buzzing in your head!

Bee-Pop-A-Lula, you´re my honey! Two conductors and one hundred thousand musicians – never before in the history of field recording you had an orchestra this size! Artists Paul Divjak and Wolfgang Schloegl teamed up to form Team Tool Time, doing practical sound research somewhere between art and everyday life.

For their first record the team made an expedition into the habitat of Apis mellifera: the Western Honey Bee.
The artists got dressed in beekeeper working jackets, placed precision microphones all over their selected beehives and recorded 100.000 bees buzzing and swirling while doing their work. The harvest brought amazing sounds from the world of workers, drones and their queen bee.

Bee-beats and drone drones, buzzing, buzzing in your head!
